We are ready. I am not sure if Russia is ready today, but in any case we have discussed an energy truce.
We are ready for an energy truce if they do not attack our energy, our power grids, our heating and water supply. That is our proposal. We are grateful to the American side. They will hand it over to the Russians. I do not know Russia’s position.
Tomorrow President Trump will meet with the leader of China. I told the President very frankly that we believe that if he also involves President Xi, he has influence over Putin. If we want to end this war not only in words, then we all have to work on it around the clock – for the people.
We also talked about winter. This is important on the way to negotiations. We have to prepare. It will not be easy. We are asking the American side for two things. The first is a winter package of missiles for the Patriots. The second is the licenses to produce Patriot missiles. We also need security guarantees for Ukraine.
In my opinion, the most important step that President Trump can take is to organize a trilateral meeting where the leaders can raise all the sensitive issues and try to end the war.

Ynet reports he’ll land at a military field in New Jersey or at Newark rather than JFK, partly over complications involving Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and his team is bracing for heckling or a walkout by entire delegations during his speech.
Meetings with Marco Rubio and other foreign leaders are still being weighed, but nothing with the president is on the books.
Officials close to him say the address will center on Iran and may hold surprises.
Trump has spent this week sitting with Gulf leaders and sending Witkoff and Kushner into three hours of talks with Iran’s delegation, so Washington’s whole focus right now is on finding a way out of this war.
Netanyahu is 35 days from an election he’s losing and walking into a hall that may empty out on him, and the president who could hand him a headline has no time on the calendar.
Whatever surprise he’s saving for Iran, it has to be big enough to change a race back home, which is EXACTLY the kind of pressure that produces reckless announcements.

I just had a positive and productive meeting with President Trump @POTUS at UNGA. Both the U.S. and Ukraine want to see this senseless Russian war ended before winter. We discussed potential de-escalatory steps that can open up the way to diplomacy. I am grateful that in the meantime our teams keep working on launching Patriot interceptor production in Ukraine. This is what will help protect lives, should Russia spurn the negotiations and keep betting on ballistic missile terror against our people this winter and beyond. We also discussed other bilateral and multilateral issues, including a winter package of air defense for Ukraine. I thank President Trump, his team, and all the American people for their support.
